OTCS'S STAFF PROFILES

GEORGE HEADLEY

I am George Headley, Owner and Manager of Online Training and Collaborative Solutions (OTCS) and serves as its e-Learning Specialist, Training Coordinator and Manager. I have over twenty (20) years’ experience in e-Learning, and more than forty (40) years of experience in education and training.

I previously served as a Lecturer and Head of the Distance Department, as well as an Instructional Design Specialist/ e-Learning Specialist at the Institute of Distance and Continuing Education (IDCE), University of Guyana. I also held the position of Training & Development Manager at the Guyana Sugar Corporation Ltd. (GuySuco) and worked as an Online Specialist at the Cyril Potter College of Education.

Currently, I serve as the Programs Manager on the Ubicua Technology Moodle course platform and as the Academic Program Manager for the NGS- Ubicua –GOAL funded Precision Agriculture and Construction Technology Programs.

In addition, I have provided e-Learning consultancy services to several training departments in Guyana, supporting the development and implementation of online learning systems and instructional design strategies.

My teaching career spans countries and continents. After earning the Class 1 Grade 1 Teacher’s Certificate in Guyana, I began my teaching career locally before contributing to the education sector internationally in St. Lucia, Botswana, and the Bahamas respectively.

I hold aMaster’s degree in Education Technology, with a concentration in Instructional Design and Online Education. I am also certified in several specialized areas including:

• Designing and Facilitating e-Learning.
• How to Teach Online (Frameworks for Online Learning, Assessment and Online Learning, Designing Online Learning, and Online Learning Communities).
• K–12 Blended Learning and Online Strategies (UNESCO)./
• AI for School Teachers & Educators (In Progress)y.

My academic qualifications include a Degree in Economics, Diploma in Web Designing, Diploma in Java Programming, Diploma in Agriculture, Class 1 Grade 1 Teacher’s Certificate, as well as Using Moodle and Moodle Administration Certificates, among others.

Through my extensive experience in education, training, instructional design, and online learning technologies, I continue to contribute to the advancement of digital education and workforce training in Guyana and beyond.
